CRM System Modules: What a Business in Uzbekistan Needs

When a business owner decides to introduce a CRM system, the first thing they run into is a long list of features, and it's unclear which of them will actually be useful. It's easy to end up paying for a dozen modules nobody uses while still missing the one that matters. Below we go through the modules a CRM consists of, what problem each one solves, and how to assemble a set that fits your business.

What is a CRM module

A CRM (Customer Relationship Management) is software that brings all your work with customers together: contacts, deals, tasks, payments and communication history. A module is a separate block of the system responsible for one job.

The modular approach is convenient because you don't have to build everything at once. You launch the core blocks first, your staff get used to them, and as the company grows you add new ones. That spreads the cost over several stages, and your team isn't overwhelmed by an unfamiliar interface from day one.

Core modules: almost everyone needs them

Customer base

Every CRM starts here. A customer card holds the name, phone number, company, address, lead source, purchase history and comments. What to look out for:

  • duplicate checks by phone number, so the same customer doesn't end up in the base twice;
  • segments: wholesale, retail, regular, new, "dormant";
  • a complete contact history: calls, Telegram messages, meetings, commercial offers you sent.

Sales funnel

The funnel shows the path of an inquiry from "new lead" to "paid". The stages depend on your field. For a training center it might be "application — trial lesson — contract — payment", for a wholesale company "request — price list — approval — shipment — payment". The manager moves the deal through the stages, and the head of the company sees where customers drop off most often.

Tasks and reminders

Call back, send a quote, remind about a payment: each of these becomes a task assigned to a specific employee with a deadline. The excuse "I forgot" stops working, because overdue tasks are visible to management.

Reports

This is often the very reason a CRM gets introduced. A typical set:

  • how many inquiries come from each channel and how many of them turn into sales;
  • results and workload of each manager;
  • the funnel stage where you lose the most customers;
  • sales volume and average check for the chosen period.

Users and access rights

A cashier, a manager, a storekeeper and a director don't need the same information. The permissions module defines who sees, edits and deletes what. It's a matter of both order and security: an employee who leaves shouldn't walk away with your customer base.

Additional modules: depend on the type of business

Telephony and messengers

With IP telephony connected, the customer card opens automatically on an incoming call, and the call recording is saved in the history. In Uzbekistan customers more often write on Telegram, so integrating chats with the CRM saves managers a lot of time. Often a Telegram bot is built for this, which takes orders and records them in the system right away.

Products and stock balances

If you sell goods, a manager should see the catalog and stock levels right in the CRM. Then, when preparing an offer, they won't promise a customer something that isn't in the warehouse.

Payments and accounts receivable

Who has paid how much, who owes, and by when is critical for wholesale and services. The system reminds the responsible person in advance when a payment deadline is approaching.

Marketing and mailings

Customers are split into segments and sent promotions by SMS or Telegram. For example, a separate offer for those who haven't bought in a while.

Mobile part for field staff

Sales agents, couriers and technicians work "in the field". They need a mobile version or a separate app: to take an order, check an address, mark a job as done.

Integrations

Your website, online payments, accounting software and cash register can all exchange data with the CRM. Integrations save you from double manual entry and the errors that come with it.

Which modules different businesses need

Type of business Core modules Useful additions
Retail store Customers, reports Cash register, warehouse, loyalty program
Wholesale Customers, funnel, payments Warehouse, sales agent app
Training center Customers, funnel, tasks Attendance, payment reminders, Telegram bot
Services Orders, tasks Technician app, SMS notifications
Manufacturing Orders, customers Warehouse, raw material accounting, ERP elements

Where to start: a step-by-step plan

  1. Describe the problem. Where are you losing money or time right now? Unprocessed leads, forgotten debts, no clarity on who is doing what: each pain point maps to its own module.
  2. Draw the process. What steps does a customer go through from the first message to payment? This list will become the funnel stages.
  3. Choose a minimal set. For the first launch, a customer base, funnel, tasks and simple reports are usually enough.
  4. Involve your staff. Ask managers what is inconvenient for them now. If they don't work in the system, no modules will help.
  5. Expand in stages. Once the foundation runs steadily, connect telephony, a warehouse or a mobile app.

Common mistakes when choosing modules

  • Ordering everything at once. Extra features distract staff and drag out the rollout.
  • Leaving reports for later. If you don't say upfront which metrics you need, the necessary data may not be collected at all.
  • Not setting up permissions. In a system where everyone sees everything, information leaks easily.
  • Forgetting about language. Your staff work in Uzbek and Russian, so the interface should support both.
  • Ignoring the smartphone. Many people work mostly from their phones, so the CRM should open comfortably on a mobile screen too.

Frequently asked questions

What determines the cost of a CRM system?

The number of modules, integrations, user roles and whether a mobile version is needed. The exact price depends on the task: leave a request and we'll estimate it after reviewing your requirements.

Can a module be added later?

Yes. If the system was built on a modular principle from the start, new blocks can be connected without losing existing data. That's why it makes sense to take only what's necessary at the start.

Does a small business need a CRM?

It does, if leads get lost or customer history is kept in one person's head. A small company is fine with a simple version made of a few core modules.
